Pick-your-own apple orchards have always seemed like the ubiquitous fall activity to me, however I’d never had the chance to try it out until this year. I definitely made up for lost time by going twice for a total of almost 20 kilograms (44 pounds) of apples. I’ve already made a few apple desserts, and there will be many more I’m sure. The second round of apple picking was nearly rained out, but luckily, the storm clouds cleared and the sun came out just as we arrived at the orchard. Isn’t everything more beautiful after the rain?
